Alhaji Sa'ad Abubakar III, the Sultan of Sokoto and President-General of the Nigeria Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, has asked Muslims to adopt a culture of forbearance and mutual sacrifice.

In his Sallah speech to Nigerians on Saturday in Sokoto, Abubakar stated that Muslims should remember the lessons learned from Eid ul-Kabir.

"To commemorate this wonderful day, we should keep giving thanks to the Almighty Allah for His bounties and gift of life. The security issues that our nation is currently dealing with are nonetheless worrying and of concern.

As a result, we ought to pray at this time of worship for the welfare of the country, its security forces, and its leaders. Additionally, as leaders, we won't tired of calling the citizens to continue praying for the country.
In order to address the current issue, he stated, "our security agencies should constantly be acknowledged and encouraged."

The Sultan further urged the nation's Muslims to register as voters so they could choose the politicians they wanted to rule.

He urged officials to respect Allah and make sure that the nation's election campaigns are conducted peacefully.

Abubakar commended the Sokoto State Government for its ongoing assistance to the weak and disadvantaged members of society.

He also praised security organizations for their commitment to resolving the nation's security issues.

In praise of Nigerians

Alhaji Muhammad Dingyadi, the minister of police affairs, has praised Nigerians for their tenacity in establishing a powerful, democratic, and affluent Nigeria.

In a statement released on Saturday in Abuja, Mr. Osaigbovo Ehisienmen, the minister's press secretary, said the minister expressed his appreciation to Nigerians in his Eid-el-Kabir greeting.

Eid-el-Kabir, according to Dingyadi, represents sacrifice, selflessness, and submission to God. He urged Nigerians to support the government's commitment to upgrading the country's security infrastructure.

He claimed that the goal was to increase both personal and material safety.

He asserts that the recent transfer of 10,000 skilled police constables to their home local governments will advance community policing efforts and improve human intelligence.
